New Year's Greetings
Today we celebrate the Feast of Mary the Mother of God and the World Day of prayer for Peace. We draw our central message from the Gospel, “Mary pondered all these things in her heart” and in so doing becomes deeply committed to answering the call of God. She becomes the mother of Jesus and grows into a deep discipleship of the ways of God. We are called to pray that peace may become a reality in our troubled world. The power of prayer can do great things and like Mary we reflect before God on how we may be people of peace. May 2017 be a year of peace for all the members of our parish family under the protection of Mary, the Mother of God.
On behalf of Bishop Ustrzycki, Father James McSharry and Father Gerald Mulhall I extend to all of you our prayers for you and wish God’s many blessings and peace to each member of our parish family in this New Year.
A very sincere THANK YOU to everyone who assisted in the celebration of our Christmas liturgies especially the Ministries of Word and Eucharist; Music Ministry; Decorators; Hospitality; Altar Servers; Custodian; Sacristy helpers; Parish Staff; and Father James McSharry. I thank everyone who sent us Christmas greetings, prayers, cards and gifts. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated.
